Mt. Laguna via Kitchen Creek Ride **CANCELLED**

ATTENTION: After consulting the irresponsibles security council, Saturday's ride has been cancelled. Forecasts show nastiness in every inch of the county. By past experience, no one will show up anyway except some new person wondering why we are such wusses. So better to fess up to wussdom and simply throw in the towel. However, please post how you spent your free saturday. Your trainer session or your own rain ride route. We want to know that you didn't just sit in bed and enjoy a weekend morning off with a loved one.

Let's Ride The Extended Great Western Route Sat Nov 30 8am

DESCRIPTION: On Saturday, November 30, 2013, the planned ride is the Extended Great Western Loop; about 73 miles with about 7,300 vertical feet of climbing, mostly on the front end; in East County. The plan is to be on the road by 8 A.M. departing from Starbucks in Rancho San Diego (2512 Jamacha Road) and heading out Willow Glenn Road to a right on Dahesa Road to right on Japatul Road through Guatay down the hill and left on Pine Creek Road (just before the bridge) and around to the Pine Valley store. Then we will ride Old Highway 80 (becomes Japatul Road) back up the hill through Guatay under I-8 to Lyons Valley Road and go left on Lyons Valley Road and continue around the Great Western Loop to Willow Glenn Road where we will turn left and return to the start at the intersection with Jamacha Road. We plan to stop at the Pine Valley Market and at the Lyon's Valley store (formerly with the donkey) in order to refuel. Those wanting to shorten the ride can merely go out and back to Descanso. Those wanting to extend the ride can continue from Pine Valley up and over Mount Laguna. This is a very beautiful, low-traffic, and challenging ride. The pace will be moderate. I hope you can make it for the 8:00 A.M. launch. At the finish of the ride those who wish can dine at the excellent Mexican restaurant across from the start/finish.

Back by popular demand, this Thanksgiving Day, please plan to ride the 4th Annual Turkey Day Climbfest on Mt. Soledad. It's the perfect way to build an appetite and still get you home in time to face the onslaught of family, calories and football.

Minutes of the club formerly known as Gitman Holland Cycle Club

Greetings,
The board of directors of Gitman Holland met in total secrecy at our world headquarters recently and deemed our very core structure to be one of goodness. We also liked the Carne Asada. That goodness coupled with people's desire for more goodness all the time, in every conceivable way, allowed the board to make a huge decision. One that will affect all goodness and kindness in the world. We're changing our name. And NOT to Carne Asada.

New ways to be irresponsible!

Email:

The single best way to be updated on upcoming rides is to signup for our weekly email list. We send it out the week before with the date, time, location and route of our ride. No rsvp's necessary. The only dues in the irresponsibles cycle club is your email address. The government already has it, so what's the big deal, we want it too!
