Heat up the Kitchen, here we come...

It's time for some summer time heat on Kitchen Creek. We ride on Saturday 7/12 one of San Diego's premier HC climbs. Don't miss it. We ride from Pine Valley Motel parking lot at 7:30am and will add/subtract along the way based on the how the group feels. This is an advanced day of climbing in the mountains of East County San Diego so having the appropriate clothing, bicycle and food is important. It doesn't hurt to have a good attitude and your own lunch money either ;-)

It's official, we are Gitman Holland and no longer irresponsible!

It's true, after a year of irresponsibility, we are now back to ourselves. Something that the sage among us could have foreseen, but the misspent youth needed to learn for themselves. Your dutiful webmaster will now attempt to change all the accounts to reflect the change. you still might see 'irresponsibles' along the way, but the purge is taking place this week. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, make sure to ride with us to Desert Tower on Saturday at 7:30am leaving the Pine Valley Motel parking lot.

Mt. Laguna via Kitchen Creek Report

Nine starters in PV.  4i degrees, not 48 as forecast!  Three Kitchen virgins, Chris, Greg and Norm.  Warmed up fast as sun rose.  The extra fast ride out of PV helped!  Actually hot by the time we got on the climb, shedding everywhere.  Isaac held off Chris to the store, the rest followed without incident.
Jay G and Norm turned back from Laguna.  Trevor, Greg and I declined the Julian pie challenge, oh and Engineer's...  The MoFos and Chris were game and off they went.  After rolling down 79 a ways a little voice told me I wasn't being Irresponsible enough so I suggested Cuyamaca.  Greg declined, Trevor said OK with reservations.  Up we went and too bad for Trevor (not riding a the right gearing) he turned back.  I somehow made the top.  That one is the TOUGHEST 30 minute climb I have ever done!  Anyway, I assume everyone else made it home OK too...
Cheers,
Pete
